The HSK interface as a standard interface for machine tools
Hollow shank taper clamping is standardized according to DIN 69893 and is becoming increasingly widespread in the machine tool industry. HSK clamping systems offer the optimum conditions for high-precision machining results and repeatability in the µ range. The shorter and lighter design enables fast tool changes and higher speeds. Thanks to excellent rigidity, high pull-in forces and optimum torque transmission, HSK technology is also suitable for use in heavy-duty machining.
PACH Systems offers a wide range of different HSK Tool Grippers from OTT-JAKOB Spanntechnik GmbH and Ortlieb Präzisionssysteme GmbH & Co. KG.
HSK Tool Gripper types of OTT-JAKOB Spanntechnik GmbH
Type B
This type has been adapted to the special requirements of the automotive industry. It is capable of fast and frequent tool changes. At the same time, a positive guide ensures parallel displacement of the grippers under the most difficult operating conditions. In addition, the DLC coating enables the longest possible service life. Reduced friction leads to a higher transmission ratio.
Type C
The HSK variant C enables very short tool change times. Type C contains an integrated holding function, which in turn enables the shortest possible waiting time during tool change. Like type B, the DLC coating also ensures long-lasting wear resistance.
Type D,K and BK
The internal contour of type D is identical to that of type B, but offers an even higher transmission ratio.
Typ K represents the most cost-effective variant among the OTT-JAKOB tool grippers. This type convinces as a solid basic variant especially in standard applications. A high-quality coating enables a long service life.
BK tool grippers help to realize the shortest possible spindle lengths.
Type BK
BK tool grippers help to realize the shortest possible spindle lengths.

ToolGrip HSK
ToolGrip HSK tool grippers were specially developed for heavy milling and
and HSC machining. They allow significantly higher clamping forces than those recommended by the DIN 69893 standard. In addition to the high clamping forces, its advantages include its short overall length, simple and maintenance-friendly design, and large cooling lubricant passage. The vulcanized 6-piece clamping fingers are designed for a product service life of up to 2 million load cycles. It is possible to increase the service life up to 3 million clamping cycles by a WCH coating.
For maintenance-free operation under the highest loads, the ToolGrip HSK tool gripper with ceramic is the right choice. After initial lubrication, this reliably clamps up to 5 million load cycles without loss of clamping force.
For an even faster tool change, there is the ToolGrip HSK tool gripper with holding function, which holds the released tool in the machine spindle until the tool changer pulls the tool out.
UniGrip HSK
The UniGrip HSk tool gripper enables maximum speeds of up to 40,000 min-1. It consists of 8 clamping fingers and a spring return which holds the clamping fingers in position. This tool gripper is also available as a coated or holding version and in ceramic.
Our product range includes other tool grippers in addition to the articles listed in the onlineshop.
