What are Built-in impact units?

Borries' built-in impact units are fixed marking systems that enable cost-effective and permanent marking of virtually all plastic deformable materials. They are particularly suitable for imprinting solid marking content. Depending on the model, the impact force can be continuously adjusted up to 113 kN, with the maximum stroke ranging from 22 mm to 150 mm.

Typical tools that can be used include steel types, pin stamps, engraving stamps, and numbering heads, which even allow for variable labeling. The built-in impact units can be controlled pneumatically. A significant advantage is that no elaborate adjustments are required when the height of the workpieces to be marked changes.

Where are built-in impact units used?

The built-in impact units enable the creation of solid marking content and are ideal for integration into transfer lines, rotary indexing machines, and testing automatons. They find diverse applications, including direct marking of semi-finished products, components, and assemblies, even when surfaces are rough or lightly soiled. The use of heated stamps also allows for marking thermoplastic plastics and creating heat-embossed marks in wood.

These stamping systems are used in various industries, including internal tool manufacturing, special machinery and equipment manufacturing for the automotive and automotive supply industry, as well as many other industrial sectors.

How do built-in impact units work?

In built-in impact units, marking of content is achieved through the use of a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder that applies the necessary force to the workpiece surface to create a permanent mark. This results in a lasting, plastic stamp impression. Built-in impact units are capable of imprinting only repetitive content. If a change in marking content is required, the corresponding stamps can be replaced or adjustable numbering embossing units can be used.
